bijayogashram

The Satyananda Yoga Centre, Bijayogashram functions according to the principles of an ashram.  It is directed by Swami Paramatma Saraswati.

The word “ashram” can translate to mean a family gathered together around a spiritual guide, in this case Swami Niranjanananda, successor to Paramahamsa Satyananda.

Unlike a school it provides a link to inspiration.  This perpetuates in spirit the tradition of Satyananda Yoga® and encourages its application.

Situated in a rural environment the ashram is surrounded by beauty, quiet and energy, which provide inspiration for introspection and simplicity.

Life at the ashram does not impose renunciation or rejection of the world; on the contrary, its goal is opening up.
Its objectives are the opportunity for better self-knowledge, to enrich the knowledge of self and in consequence to go much further in the understanding of others and of the environment.
An ashram is an ideal refuge for acquiring a truthful understanding, awakening the conscience to allow for renewal within one’s environment and give understanding to one’s own life.

It is possible to stay at the ashram either by registering for a specific programme (training, seminar, course) or simply to experience its daily life.
